Counting offline with no signal

When you open a counting session while online, Varify saves a copy of what you need to a local store on that device: the items for the site, its bins, and the session's current counts. From then on the count screen reads from that copy. A count you log is kept on the device and sent to the server as soon as there is a connection.

• Open the session while you have signal. This is the required step.
• Check the line on the count screen that says when it was last synced for offline use. If it says it has not synced yet, tap Sync Now and wait.
• Do this on each device that will count.

A device that never loaded the session cannot open it with no signal.

Search the catalogue or scan a bin label as normal. Each count goes onto a pending list on the device. Varify also checks the new count against what it already has, so entering the same item twice is caught while you are still offline.

Queued counts are sent automatically, and Sync Now does the same on demand: it sends anything waiting first, then refreshes the copy of the session. Keep the page open until the pending list is empty.

Someone else may have counted the same item while you were offline. When your count arrives, Varify does not overwrite theirs. It flags the existing count for a recount and submits yours as the recount. Anything that still cannot be sent is listed for manual attention, so nothing disappears quietly. • It is for counting. The rest of the app, such as billing or imports, still needs a connection.
• The offline copy reflects the moment you synced. Items or bins added afterwards do not appear until you sync again.
• Queued counts live on that device until they send. Do not clear the browser's site data or hand the phone back before the pending list is empty.
